Marnus Labuschagne Dropped from Australia's One-Day International Lineup Against Team India
Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from Australia's three-match ODI series versus India, with in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw receiving a shock inclusion.
Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion

Renshaw's Return and Team Updates
Recent performances suggest of a improvement in form with a score of 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw also hit a century for the Bulls in the same game against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his ODI debut in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
The left-hander has played 14 Tests with the most recent appearance in India in 2023 but is also seeking a Test return as Australia seek a solution to their top-order woes.
Bowling Returns and Injury News
Fast bowler Mitchell Starc is back for the ODI series against India after having time off since performing well for Australia in the 3-0 Test series sweep of West Indies in July.
BBL performer Mitch Owen might get his ODI debut after being concussed in the build-up to Australia’s last 50-over series against South Africa.
ODI captain Pat Cummins is still unavailable as he aims to recover from a back injury in time to captain Australia in the opening Test of the Ashes in November.
Team Announcement Strategy and Fixtures
Australia have selected a squad for only the initial two T20 matches against India with the Ashes approaching, although Glenn Maxwell will sit out the five-match series due to a wrist injury suffered in New Zealand.
Mitch Marsh will skipper both the ODI and T20 sides after scoring a hundred in the final game against New Zealand to clinch a 2-0 series win last week.
“Selectors have announced a squad for the ODI series and first two games of the T20 series as there will be player management through the back end of the series as players get ready for the cricket season through Sheffield Shield cricket,” Australia chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an crucial phase in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously prepare specific players for the Test matches ahead.”
