The Brazilian star Extends Apology to Real Madrid Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

Vinicius Jr has registered five strikes in ten domestic competition appearances so far this term.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to the fanbase for his reaction when taken off in the recent intense El Clasico triumph.

The Brazilian was replaced in the 72nd minute and showed his disappointment by heading directly off the pitch.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the dugout and, following his club's 2-1 win, tried to confront Barça's Lamine Yamal during unsavoury post-match scenes.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was substituted in the derby," Vinicius wrote on social media.

"Similarly to I have previously expressed during the latest practice, I would like to say sorry once more to my team-mates, the team, and the club president.

"Occasionally emotion takes over me because I constantly desire to win and support my side. My determined nature originates in the passion I have for this institution and all it represents."

The player signed for Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 for a significant fee and has accumulated triple figures in numerous matches.

But his career in the La Liga is far from certain with reports in recent months suggesting that Real would contemplate letting the 25-year-old move on if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When he was replaced on the match day, TV coverage from broadcaster the platform recorded him remarking: "Always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I go, I'm leaving."

In his latest message on the platform, he said: "I vow to keep battling at all times for the benefit of Real Madrid, as I have done since the very beginning."
